I don't even know where to begin. This is one of my favorite books of the year so far!  It was grounded in history and was the perfect blend of beautiful, heartbreaking, inspiring, and suspenseful.  It paints a picture of what Americans endured during the Dust Bowl including economic and environmental disasters,  along with other hardships. Yet, it’s a story of courage, survival, hope, love, standing up for what’s right over easy and the strength of the human spirit.
