Re-read - 2022: I would sell my soul for Noah. But this book is even more insane than I remembered and I still am mad about how it ended.

------------------------------------------------

This is my first book by Penelope Douglas and I don’t think it will be my last. But this was different to what I expected but a good different I think?

I loved the whole atmosphere they created, the tension and the distinct characters. I feel like so often in new adult romance the love interests are so similar and just like a copy and paste over and over again but I didn't find that in this book.

I just didn’t love the ending it was really long winded and I also don’t love it when an author has an epilogue which is like 5 years later or whatever and then it is all happy and adds nothing to the book in my opinion.

But honestly this is not for everyone there were quite a few times actually where I was like

Listen, I read the whole book in 3 days. I genuinely think if you've been through any form of incest, you shouldn't read this book! I found myself wanting to slap Terian because she's just a 17-year-old who doesnt know better. I related to almost all the different feelings she went through. I definitely think the situations in this book should NOT be glorified. Pedophilia, domestic abuse, incest,  possesion, to name a few. The whole situation with the "uncle" is disgusting. He justifies it by saying he was "emotionally stunted." I feel the same way as a lot of people, if it was just the cousins or if it was family friends it would've been an easier read. Probably won't ever read anything else by this author and I'll listen to my intuition about trigger warnings next time.

The main character is underage and her step uncle and cousins are lusting after her and they eventually all have sex
