I didn’t know what this book was about but saw that some of my friends had read it so I gave it a try. I turned it on while I was working in a quilt and was happily surprised to learn it was about a quilting group in Kansas. It was a sweet story with an unexpected ending. The author got very repetitive with some phrases that she liked to use like “the best I ever saw”.

This was the very first book my book club ever read. I really enjoyed it, so much so that I sent it to my sis-in-law for Christmas two years in a row. Plus, it was my introduction to Sandra Dallas, a writer I really enjoy.

The story is narrated by Queenie, one of the Persian Pickle Club ladies. The author did a great job of describing the setting and the characters. I liked that the females were strong and stuck together. It's about friendships, family, loyalty, community, and murder. It could be a good summer/beach read. It was a fast read and the only con was I wasn't sure where this story was going until about halfway through.
I thought this was a really pleasant read. It was one of those books that you can't put down (and I didn't) till you've finished it. You think you've picked a nice little book about quilting...which you have...but you also get a little mystery on the side. I must say that it wasn't a wonderful as 'Alice's Tulips' or 'The Chili Queen'...but a good book nonetheless. Sandra Dallas is one of my favorite authors, and I recommend everything she writes...this book being no exception. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did.
