Even for a beach read, this book didn’t have much of a plot. It dragged on and on, but not much happened. It wasted time on situations that didn’t matter, and did t flesh out the ones that did matter enough. Many of the characters were unlikable, though there was some last-minute character growth that partially made up for it.

3.5. I loved the alternating POVs more than I loved the overall story itself. This was less about the 3 women than it was the people in their lives, especially Deacon Thorpe.

I needed something to listen to and it was immediately available on the libby app, so I went for it - just fine, no strong feelings either way really

Sweet last chapter. Two of the characters were lovable but all others were not. The premise of the story was infidelity which wasn’t my favorite. Not much character growth and development. As always with Elin Hilderbrand, the setting and side characters were lovely. Overall just meh

This was somewhat slow in the beginning and a little too neat and tidy at the end. A decent beach/cabin read and I'd love to try at least one of the recipes. I think we all long for something of our childhood that was lost in one way or another, or at least wish we had a chance to say goodbye. This book does that for its characters, and gives you a little bit of hope for humanity.
