I was hoping for a quick, funny, lighthearted holiday-themed romance, but this one just missed the mark. The humor felt forced, and the main characters lacked depth, making it hard to get invested in their romance. I know it was meant to be a novella, but the smut was unimaginative, and the insta-love trope reminded me exactly why I dislike it. I enjoyed the first book, but this felt like it was written just for the sake of it. Not for me!

This was a fun little story set in the Mead Mishaps universe - our girl Ruby goes off to find the demon that cursed her father, and finds a sexy fox demon who immediately takes a liking to her.  Lucca, our demon, tells her he will lift the curse if she poses as his mate for a week of festivities.  Ruby, along with her sassy sentient sword Alexis, agrees, and eventually realizes that she has growing feelings for Lucca and might get her heart broken once the week is up.

If you've read any of Kimberly's books you know what to expect - lots of fun, lots of sweet moments, and off the scale spicy scenes.  Alexis is the absolutely best secondary character and Ruby and Lucca are a lovely pair.

Kimberly Lemming will never not hit. I just wish it was longer!!!!!

WHY IS THIS BOOK NOT LONGERRRRRRR!

A complete story, with fully fleshed characters, including a talking sword, in 50 pages. So inpressive! I've read romance novellas with double the number of pages that could not execute that as well as Kimberly Lemming did. A great side story in the Mead Mishaps world!

Cute

It’s fun to get the backstory for Alexis. Ruby an Lucca we’re adorbs and I hope they pop up in future books!
