My first Kimberly Lemming story but I'll definitely be coming back. Her ability to take the absurd and make it hilarious and relatable charmed me. Also, hot fox-demon boyfriend?? I'll be fine with that.

I’ve really enjoyed this author’s other books. This one was just too short for her to accomplish the things I enjoy about her writing. While they are all spicy, they also have strong secondary characters, interesting world building, and well considered plots. With fewer pages, those things weren’t achieved and it negatively impacted the pacing and balance of the book. It was too smutty without enough of the heart of the longer novels. (Also the audiobook narrator did a distractingly bad job on a couple of accents.) Fun to get a backstory for Alexis, though, and I think the plot was interesting enough that it could have been more fleshed out into a full novel!
