This story is incredibly cute, romantic, spicy, and adventurous! Author Kimberly Lemming is that girl! Like many others have mentioned, I wish this story were longer! I kept putting it off as a read so I could fully indulge in it during my Christmas break.
First of all, Alexis the Sword is hilarious! Although her sassy mouth often gets her and Ruby into trouble, she's a fantastic character! Along with her sass and humor come some great words of wisdom. We all need a sword like her when words fail us, lol! I really hope she got to see some mermaid butts—she deserves!
I absolutely loved the chemistry between Ruby and Lucca! Their connection is off the charts. I can’t blame Ruby for wanting to give up the goodies to Lucca—he’s undeniably attractive! Lucca has a knack for setting the perfect scene for those intimate moments with Ruby, and it had me swooning! I also appreciated how "The Rose" was woven into the story. I want to say more, but I think you’ll figure it out when you read it! That part was really clever.
And the antagonist, Nydia needs to go! She's awful! Like, girl, how self-absorbed can you be? Lucca does not want you! I was hoping Alexis would cut her! Maybe in a future story, perhaps? Lol!
In conclusion, this book will definitely be a re-read for me! I’m hoping for a longer story featuring Lucca and Ruby.
