6 volumes deep I usually run out of steam on reviews. Should we talk about, I don't know, James Tynion's beard?
It's a solid nerd beard that's gone through various nerd beard variations. Full beard, goatee, etc.
I sort of thought it was the variety of nerd beard meant to give a face more definition, but I saw a picture of a no-beard Tynion, and he was a handsome fella. A little Brandon Routh-y, if I say so myself.
Okay then. Volume 7.

This felt like one of those in-between issues. Something huge happened in volume 5 and this carried things along – slowly and only a little bit. Of course, dramatic ending. Hoping volume 7 speeds things along again.

some clean-up from the big thing in vol. 5, love issues, & running about. This one feels a bit like an in between. Like we needed to get somewhere for book 7 more than this book needed a whole plot. Not to say that the story here isn't compelling, it just feels a bit smooshed together and rushed. Still looking forward to the next book though.

I don't know if the author is getting like the author of Game of Thrones, but it's close. Man, the feels. In this volume, there are a lot of flashbacks with Karen and Calder and then the present with her getting to ready to attack the bad guys. Still love the story and the graphics but i'm hoping no more of the good guys die... sigh.
