The dimension of the Endless is filled with, well, the Endless. The Endless exists by breaking off pieces of itself to consume other parts and beings to expand on its knowledge and hunger. A single uniform entity with a hive mind that always consumes the broken off pieces. At least, until now.

Trillin has gained her own identity and needs, specifically a human witch that has appeared to be attempting to visit her world through portals she creates from Earth. Sian, the adventurous and alluring human visiting the Endless, is there to explore in the name of science, or so she tells herself (and everyone else). Trillin must choose whether to watch the Endless consume the human she has grown fond of or risk her individuality to protect her, and the feelings she has begun to harbor.

First of all, I need to clear the air. I identify with Sian a little too hard, and if I had the option to risk my life to visit the Endless dimension I absolutely would. Trillin is an absolute cinnamon roll who deserves to be protected at all cost. Who doesn't long for their own sense of identity and place in the universe? The friendship that blossoms between the two and the mutual pining as Trillin navigates the inconveniences of what she is part of in an attempt to bond with the human are incredibly sweet.

My singular complaint would be how short it was. I, too, felt as if I was staring into the many eyes of the terrifying monster as I watch the percentage on my kindle quickly climbing towards 100%.

Thank you so much to Marie Cardno for this ARC copy in exchange for an honest review!

This was cute and funny. I know it came out first, but I read it because I absolutely loved Someone You Can Build a Nest In by John Wiswell and wanted to see how similar the two books were, since they are both sapphic and involve tentacle monsters. This is a much lighter read with an emphasis on humor, and in a contemporary setting. Both books were a good time for me, but if you want the monster girl romance without any violence, this is the one to pick. Alternatively, if you read this one and want a deeper read with more horror elements, I would highly recommend Someone You Can Build a Nest In. My small critiques with this book are that both characters are horny on site, which is odd since there's no actual spice in the book, and at times the writing was a little clunky.

Less actual romance than I was expecting (which was fine with me), but the perfect length for what it was.
