Very cool and trippy cyberpunk tech-noir. Has some very fun and memorable characters (the Zionites, Hideo, Case and Molly of course) and very cool worldbuilding. As with most other cyberpunk, the systems in place are a little bit hard to follow on first read-through, but it still reads well enough that the story is not lost. Definitely some interesting themes to analyze after reading as well.

I liked this book, but at points the lingo used felt like a barrier to entry. Some of the plot seemed sideways and im not really sure about the ending. However i say that this doesn't read like a book that was written in the 1980s. I can see how it helped inspire aspects of the genre i love today including the Matrix. It is well worth a read even though it is confusing at times.

this book was mildly confusing, which i want to add first and foremost as it is not an "easy" read. i have mixed feelings on it; i found it very interesting but i'm not sure if i would personally call it a really good book. i think from a subjective standpoint, as is the case with many books in this genre, it's really good. i like the way it was written, the problems it deals with, the struggles of the characters. for me, though, it didn't quite grip me in the way i was hoping it to - it was more of a casual read. it's quite enjoyable though, so if you want to stretch yourself or enjoy questioning life a little this is a good book for you. otherwise don't bother because you'll probably get bored. and heads up! the ending is not what you'll expect (for me it even felt a little lackluster, but it was fitting).

The book itself was fine, I don't know why I wasn't more engaged. I just didn't care to keep reading. I might try this one again later when I'm more in the mood for it, but there are too many books out there to force myself to read ones I don't care to continue.
