Author uses the term "pooches" way too much. I also felt the story needed more plot, it felt unfinished. There's definitely room for improvement, but it was okay.

I really did enjoy this it was very light and fluffy. The stubbornness did take away from a bit of the enjoyment at the end but overall i liked how it ended. It was a nice book to just sit down read and get immersed into a story.

I have never wanted to hug two characters more! This story deals with issues around sexuality, gender, religion, ableism and yet still manages to be incredibly sweet.

Some descriptions were a little repetitive, especially about the characters where they could have been rounded out more.

I liked it. The romantic aspects of it were cute, but I feel like this book wanted to do two things, and only accomplished one. I think it wanted to be a romance and touch/discuss some heavier topics. While the romantic aspects worked for me, the discussion on the heavier topics didn't completely land in my opinion.

When it comes to Skylar, I think the book showed well how the bullying and his being in foster care affected how he saw people and the world. It made sense that he was scared to bond with people and that he pushed them away. However, I do think the book could've touched more on that. Maybe Skylar could've had a conversation with his parents and friends about his past. Maybe he could've learned to open up to people in therapy.

When it comes to Jacob, I feel like there's so much missed opportunity for his character. Jacob's story is mostly focused on his feelings for Skylar, and there's nothing inherently wrong with that. I liked their romance. But I would've liked it better if the book had touched on his religious trauma and home situation more. I did it a few times, and I thought those were interesting. But I feel like the book didn't really go in-depth on how that affected Jacob. The end of the book felt so rushed when it came to his story.

Overall, I liked this book. It has some great and cute moments. So, if people want to give it a shot, I say go for it. But if you're looking for something more fleshed-out story with topics such as religious trauma/bigotry, bullying, and homophobia, you might want to look for something else.

This was such a great entry in the Noahverse! I’ve had this book on my list since before it came out, and not knowing that there were 2 books that preceded it.

Whereas A Mark on My Soul was heart-shattering and painful, and Watching for Comets struck somewhere between tragic and hopeful, Every Word You Never Said was lighthearted and cute. It’s great to see versatility.

Skylar and Jacob were both fantastic characters. I have an incredibly soft spot for characters in the foster care system and Skylar was so incredibly brave, intelligent, and strong. Jacob was resilient, courageous, and thoughtful. I loved watching their friendship bloom into a relationship.

Jordon’s books all include religion / religious judgment as a common theme, and it was interesting to see it become weaponized and politicized within the context of a dress code and Jacob’s father’s political campaign.

Another great theme explored was that of communication – not just through Skylar not being able to speak, but also in how Jacob WAS able to speak, but had (often) poor communication skills.

I wish the main conflict had not become Skylar and Jacob fighting because I would have loved to see more romance versus trying to get each other back, but with a resolution like that at the ending, I cannot complain!

I’m so glad I read them in order, otherwise the cameos and appearances from other characters / places would have gone right over my head. It was wonderful to see them all within the same story. I will always be happy to see Noah and Aidan because I absolutely adore them.

Noah speaking about Parker brought tears to my eyes, because their story will forever and always break my heart into a million little pieces. The first book / namesake of the series meant so much to me (and others) and seeing elements of that bleed into other entries of the universe gives us great full-circle moments.

I am beyond excited to read Snowflake Kisses and This I Promise You ( which I am told is quite spicy ! ). Every Word You Never Said was an excellent book with a unique premise and important messages. Jordon Greene never seems to miss!

Sometimes I wonder; when you sleep, are you ever dreaming of me? … /
Is it cool that I said all that? Is it chill that you’re in my head? / Is it cool that I said all that? Is it too soon to do this yet? Because I know that it’s delicate.
