Okay, I know and I bet everyone has said on their review that the ending took a turn but... THAT ENDING THO. Oh and at the end when she is telling her birthdays (spoiler), on her twenty-fourth she says that Ollie wasn't there to celebrate. Brooooooooo, not the dog, anything but the dog. So the book is really sad at the ending but the thing that made me cry was the dog dying cause those to be pulling on those heartstrings hard. Other than that, good book and trilogy, I do wish the story wasn't really influenced by the relationship of June and Day but, other than that, it was decent and good. 3.5 stars

4 stars because i didnt like the ending 😭
It wasn't a happy ending it was a hopeful ending.
it was bloody SAD. Im still holding in tears.
WHY THE AUTHOR GOTTA BREAK OUR HEARTS LIKE THAT.
WHY COULDNT SHE JUST GIVE US A TYPICAL UNREALISTIC HAPPY ENDING.
This was sad man, after EVERYTHING they and he went through.
I thought the last books ending was sad enough.
Then this sort of shit is pulled.
Im straight depressed right now.
You cant put a character through all that shit and then end his storyline for us like that. WHY WHY WHY.

Now i miss the other 2 books, before i read this one 😭 why did i read this one. Why did it end like this.

Re-read via audiobook (but maintaining original ratings from 2013 haha)

The CHOKEHOLD this series had on me in middle/high school. Re-read because of how much I loved it back then, but not sure if I would love it as much if I had read it for the first time today. It’s very typical of its genre (dystopian future America, plague, civil war, rich vs. poor, love triangle), yet despite the insta-love, something about June and Day gets me every time. Even after re-reading them the past 2 months, the plots are kind of a blur, but I loved the teen angst. The ending/epilogue of Champion still gave me chills and is the best part of the entire series.

While I was re-reading, I learned that there’s a 4th book set 10 years in the future, so I’m currently listening to that one, too. Will report back.

usually third books in trilogies really let me down, but not this one!! perfect way to wrap up with series. absolutely in love with the metias/thomas plot and then 10 years later epilogue at the end. june and day feel like one of the only YA couples who actually dealt with their trauma and fixed their toxic relationship.

It's great to see June and Day again in their ever changing dystopian situation. (I'm writing this review a month or so after finishing, so it may be vague). I continue to love the world creation and details and the characters. The ending was so bittersweet <3
