[9/10] [audiobook]

Do not be fooled by the length of this novel. It packs a punch. I went into this knowing nothing about it other than the fact that I had enjoyed other Seanan McGuire novels in the past, and this one did not disappoint. What happens when the children who go through doorways return? What happens if someone becomes so desperate to find a key, even if the door is firmly bolted shut? This exploration of childhoods lost and regained, of becoming yourself despite the fact you are no longer who you were, was a delightful listen.

It's odd.

Enjoyed this. Even though I don't agree with her rationale for girls being more likely to go than boys. Girls' parents dote on them. Boys are left to their own devices, and abuse less reported. "Missing white woman syndrome" exists for a reason. This kind of gendering of fiction is more likely to make me about the issues facing boys and men. Good asexual representation nonetheless.

This book was such a fun and magical surprise! I'm so excited to read the next one!

I just couldn’t finish this book. The writing at the beginning was over done to where it did not make any sense. It was just boring to me.

I'm so sorry, it just did not keep me interested in the plot at all
