Few series have been as satisfying to finish as this. I look forward to reading more books by M. K. Jemisin.

I think there's a layer of stone between me and this book. I can understand why it resonates with other people, but it just didn't for me.
It is well written. It's well thought out and the ending is satisfying.
But. I don't know. It didn't exactly click with me. I kept hoping it would, hence me finishing it. I guess I could say, "I said it was good, I didn't say I liked it." Perhaps if I was a parent?
The first novel was the strongest and very much worth the read!

I’m not saying anything new or insightful when I say that the best sci-fi/fantasy/speculative fiction is used to make observations about the human condition, but man does N. K. Jemisin do that and then some. Her treatment of the relationships between parents and children (especially mothers and daughters), as well as prejudice were eloquent and thought-provoking.
Coming in to the third book, I wondered if Jemisin could stick the landing after two such strong volumes. I’ve found several series that set up interesting mysteries but resolve them in unsatisfying ways, and I had braced myself for something similar here. It was foolish to have worried. Jemisin’s incredible world-building held through and the resolution of The Stone Sky packed an emotional punch worthy of this amazing trilogy. I’m a fan for life.

Fantastic end to an impressive trilogy. I love the world that Jemisin created and can imagine myself happily re-reading the series some day.
