The first half is incredibly slow. I had a very hard time getting into the book. It took me awhile to like the main characters and to stop mixing them up. The book does improve though and I flew through the second half. I would have given this five stars but the first half was difficult to get through.

Crescent City: Where Supernatural Beings Have Better Social Lives Than You!
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Move over, mundane reality, and make way for Crescent City—a place where vampires have better nightlife than your favorite bar, angels gossip like teenage girls, and even the demons can't resist a good brunch spot. Sarah J. Maas takes us on a rollercoaster of paranormal chaos in a world where the supernatural beings are just as concerned about their Instagram likes as they are about saving the world.
Meet our heroine, Bryce Quinlan—partying like there's no tomorrow, until there almost isn't. When tragedy strikes, Bryce finds herself knee-deep in a murder investigation that makes your average whodunit look like a game of Clue for toddlers. But fear not, because in Crescent City, the detectives have more drama in their personal lives than a season finale of your favorite reality show.
The supporting cast is as diverse as the supernatural beings that inhabit this city. From a brooding fallen angel with a penchant for dramatic entrances to a sassy shapeshifter who moonlights as a stand-up comedian, you'll find yourself wondering why your friends aren't this entertaining. Oh, and did I mention the talking cat? Because every fantasy world needs a talking cat.
But let's talk romance. Move over Romeo and Juliet; Bryce and Hunt are the new power couple in town. Their love story is so epic, it makes Nicholas Sparks look like an amateur. I mean, who wouldn't want a centuries-old fallen angel as their brooding, yet oh-so-dreamy, love interest? Just be prepared for more swooning than an entire season of The Bachelor.
Crescent City is not just a book; it's a wild, supernatural ride with plot twists sharper than the fangs of a vampire on a caffeine high. And just when you think you've got it all figured out, Maas throws in a curveball that leaves you questioning your existence. Who needs reality anyway when you can escape to Crescent City and live vicariously through beings who handle their otherworldly problems with more sass and style than you handle your Monday blues?
In conclusion, if you're looking for a hilarious, action-packed, and downright addictive read, Crescent City is your golden ticket to a world where the supernatural not only saves the day but also knows how to throw one hell of a party. Move over, reality; Crescent City is the place to be!
