It took me a long time to read this, not because of its size but because the beginning is very slow and meh. I started the graphic audiobook and it was a game changer. I was hooked.

Very hard to get immersed into the first half of the book. I struggled a lot personally but once I got into it I couldn’t put it down. The second half was awesome!

One night shook the city, and two years later Bryce still couldn’t forget the events that took her best friend from her. When people start getting murdered, Bryce knows it is linked to Danika. Guarded by a grumpy fallen Angel, Bryce is tasked with finding out what happened on that horrid night, and why it is happening again.

It honestly did take me a while to get into this one. There’s a lot to learn about everything straight away, and there is just a lot going on and I was a bit overwhelmed by it all. It didn’t really help that I had a major book hangover from Kingdom of Ash, and instead of a palate cleanser I just powered on to CC1. However, after getting over my initial struggles, wow did this book blow me away. There was a lot going on, and it did take a lot for me to keep up, but my god was it good. I honestly could not predict what was going to happen next, I was completely blindsided by everything. There was twist after twist, and more things kept happening that just made my jaw drop to the floor. It was so good! I honestly love these strong women that SJM writes, and how they just prove all the haters wrong and laugh in the face of men who think that can’t do anything. Plus, Bryce can do it heels.
