I cried approximately seven times while reading this damn book. ITS SO GOOD. the world building was a looooooot at the beginning, and it’s so different from the other worlds in other SJM books that I was slightly thrown off, but oh my goodness once I got into it I was IN. this book was devastating, heartbreaking, gut wrenching, and so so so beautiful. I cannot wait to run to start the second one!!!!!

Wow. This book. I have no words. I was riveted for every single one of the 800 pages. At the beginning I was like oh this is a nice story of friendship and then it was like nope not a nice friendship story and then it was just twist after twist after twist, but none of them didn't make sense with the plot. It flowed together seamlessly and none of it felt unrealistic or like there was too much that was trying to happen. The characters pulled me in and I loved learning about their complexities and seeing their stories unfold.

This book took me a minute to get into, but when it got good it got good and I couldn’t put it down. Then it would kinda slow down. The last 300 pages were a RIDE.

At first, I was wondering why in the hell was this book so long. Without all the information this book gives and builds for the reader, the final 20% of the book wouldn’t have made sense. Once I got the 80% mark…HOLY COW. I was flying through the pages with all that was happening. CC just might surpass ACOTAR as being my favorite series of hers.

Includes ACOTAR SPOILERS too.

I have not read the 2nd book yet and am continuing with the TOG series before I circle back to crescent city. But let me tell you…

I loved ACOTAR and it pulled me into the Maasverse, I will forever love Rhys and Velaris will forever be my home. However… when I read ACOTAR it was like being there and watching the inner circle, like I was one of them.
When I started CC I wasn’t sure if I was ever ready to let that go. Turns out I didn’t have to…

HOEAB starts of with a bang and I’ve never cried this early in a book . And even if some chapters might have felt a little slow I could barely put that book down.

I didn’t even realize it at the time but HOEAB did something entirely different to me.
Only when I finished and closed it did it really start working.

It’s been 2 weeks and I’m now in the middle of the TOG series but my love for Hunt is growing each day. I know the majority of readers love our baby boy Ruhn and I know that many dislike Hunt but for me he is endgame.

And after I put down the book I didn’t feel like I’d been part of the group, I felt like I was them. I was Bryce and Hunt and even Danika.

This was a whole other level of being sucked into a story and it actually took me a couple of days to digest and get up again. To understand I’m not in this book.

Velaris might be my home and Rhys might be THE dream man. But Lunation is where I feel I’ve come from and Bryce and Hunt is who I am - if that makes ANY sense.

Apart from that:
Well written SJM masterpiece, amazing world building, in-depth heartbreakingly relatable characters, amazing plot twists and I can’t wait for HOSAB
