As we get more and more details on Guts and Griffith's relationship, the ever more curious I am as to how they became such vicious enemies. In this volume, we see Guts and the Band of Hawks fight battles and see how he and Griffith's relationship starts to grow stronger, and his relationship with Casca grows weaker.

My thoughts on this volume are the same as the last, but I'll sum it up really quick, as well as add some new things that I really liked about this volume. I really like the pacing of this whole story, it's fast-paced during its action scenes and it slows down a bit to savor moments between characters. The side characters having side banter about what is going on, whether involving Guts, Griffith, or both adds more depth to this world and gives everyone some character not just having them in the background. I really like how we see Guts and Griffith become closer and closer, yet still sprinkling in small cues that Griffith will do something malicious. The artwork is still very consistently great, I love the attention to detail in both the widescale of the battlefields and the more "up-close-and-personal" frames.

Overall, I'm still loving this series and it still pulls me in more and more with great action, dialogue, art, and pacing. For this being my first manga series, I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to dip their toes into this medium.
