a good story but the book itself did not deliver on my expectations unfortunately. despite being quite short, it felt like a short story padded out to be a novel at times. stephen king is so weird about women and fat people :/ worth the read, but far from my favourite horror book.

O quanto esse livro me marcou..\nSofrer bullying não é fácil viu, o que mais gostei neste livro é seu retrato brutalmente honesto de como as crianças podem ser cruéis. O bullying costuma ser tratado como um comportamento bobo que não tem consequências reais, mas este livro mostra o quão profundas podem ser as cicatrizes psicológicas nas pessoas que já sofreram. Embora este livro tenha sido escrito há muitos anos, seu assunto ainda é muito relevante, pois mais e mais casos de adolescentes cometendo suicídio porque estavam sendo intimidados estão sendo relatados. Casos de massacres em escolas por conta do bullying. É um assunto que meche com a mente de quem já sofreu e sofre.\n\nMe irritou as declarações dos depoimentos pro Relatório da comissão White, sem simplesmente saber quem era Carrie White, eles simplesmente sabiam, e isso ficou me martelando a cabeça, a garota sofre o pão que o diabo amassou e é totalmente condenada por ter nascido dessa forma, com esse gene. O pior é a Sra. Cora Simard perguntando ao entrevistador (que também não me agradou nem um pouco) "" o que pode acontecer com o mundo se houver mais gente como ela?"".\n\nEnfim amei o livro, um dos primeiros que li do Stephen King e até agora é meu preferido.

While I liked most of the plot and structuring of this book, I would be quite happy to never read another Stephen King again because the way he writes women just feels too gross to me. Its kind of satisfying reading about Carrie getting revenge I guess? and at least the fact that this isn't broken up into chapters, just short zippy paragraphs means I got through the book fairly quickly. But yeah probably wouldn't have finished this if I wasn't reading it with someone else.
