The ending would have shocked me if I haven't read Rick Yancey's The Last Descent, because it was kind of like that, but I did and I wasn't surprised.
The first half of the book was okay but all in all I find the climax plain. Sure, there were some reveals that were "supposed" to make you gasp and scream in realization but it didn't do either of that for me. Everything was kind of expected.

WHAT. HOW. WHAT. Okay I read this book from beginning to end without stopping because I could not put it down. I don't think I've ever seen something that fit together so perfectly and was so obviously thought out from the beginning and not made up as it went along. Wow.

I'm never getting over how genius the ending to this series is, and how amazing the series is overall. Forever in love with these books.

I don't quite know what to say about this book. I liked it and it was entertaining enough but I have issues with this book. Questions were answered but there are questions I still have that will go unanswered. I still enjoyed this series and would recommend it but the first book was my favourite of the series.
Goddamn it was terrific. And cute, so very cute. It was a satisfying ending.

The last sentence tho... it broke my heart because I kinda feel betrayed, you know. But in a kind, harmless way. It's so weird. I'm the kind of girl who likes when everything is truly established. And I've been getting so attached to the characters that I want to know their real names, even if that's something ridiculously abstract and the concept of the novel is brillant and I don't want to change anything. Now it's said. :)
AHH! That was beautiful and perfect. It was the perfect way to end this trilogy. And I love the parallelism with the first line of the The Unbecoming and the last line in this book. Even though we had to wait so long for this book to come out, it was worth it.
