Honestly, I had a hard time reading this but really wanted to see how it would end.
It is so dark with so much violence that it was hard for me to read. I realize that parts of life are dark but I often prefer not to read about it, especially if it’s fiction.
The ending was ok but didn’t really wrap things up quite as much as I would have liked.
Recommend: 18 and up but I honestly don’t think I’d recommend this series to anyone even though I felt the need to finish it.

Mara Dyer wants to believe there's more to the lies she’s been told.
There is.
She doesn’t stop to think about where her quest for the truth might lead.
She should.
She never had to imagine how far she would go for vengeance.
She will now.
Loyalties are betrayed, guilt and innocence tangle, and fate and chance collide in this shocking conclusion to Mara Dyer’s story.
Retribution has arrived.
A heart aching masterpiece.
I can’t remember last time that a series played this way with my emotions, not way that Mara Dyer had. I finished it not long ago and I am still thinking about it, especially that ending. When I first started reading the series, I had a feeling that I was going to love it. I, however did not realize how in love I would fall in love with this series, especially with Noah and Mara. From beginning, I wondered how their story would end up, if the two of them would be able to find their happily after. It felt like anytime they got anywhere to being happy, something seemed get in their way. It was as if universe didn’t want them to be happy together. Like, Mara I was hoping that Noah was somewhere out there, alive. Not once did she give up, she kept on going until she found him, despite the obstacles that got on her way. Nothing seemed to stop her, even if she was only one who seemed to believe that he was alive. I was hesitant at times, wondering if Noah was actually alive, and was happy to find out that he was.
There were so much more going on in this book, then the rest of series or at least that is how it felt like to me. I loved Jamie, besides Mara, Daniel and Noah he was my favorite character. I loved that he always stood by her side through it all, even when Stella left at the end, because of her ability. He stayed. That’s a real friendship right there. I wonder what happened to him after. THE RETRIBUTION OF MARA DYER had me go though a lot emotions while I read it. I even cried multiple times. At times, it was hard book to read but I couldn’t seem to put it down. Last night I ended up reading it most of the night, I could not set it down even if I wanted. I wanted to see how it would end for Noah and Mara. I know there were few people who were hesitant about Noah’s love for Mara, but I knew that he loved her. The two of them belonged with each other. It made the ending of the book so beautiful.
Mara Dyer will be one of those series that will always stay with me. A series that I most likely re-read multiple times in future. I am so glad that I finally got around to reading it. One of the best books I read so far this year. Books that are worth every page.

Overall, I felt like the story tied everything together and provided a satisfying ending. While it didn't live up to my 5 star hopes, it was still an entertaining story and a nice conclusion to the series.

I feel that Mara as a character changed too frantically from the previous entries. There was a significant amount of callous and dehumanizing acts that I think didn't fit with what we knew of the characters. But it was a fitting ending and still an enjoyable read.
