The conclusion to this series was incredible!! Everything I could have hoped for and more!

I had so much fun reading this fantastic conclusion to the Mara Dyer trilogy! It wasn't as creepy as the first two books have been but it had enough thrill to make the book great.

The Retribution of Mara Dyer continues in No Name Island, where the truth about Mara's purpose being on the island has been revealed. Noah is nowhere to be found and with Dr. Kells keeping an eye on her, Mara takes off in search of a way out of the island, her friends and Noah.

There were so many secrets that have been outed, I don't even know how Mara handled it better than myself. It made things a lot clearer that's for sure. The characters are what made me love this book. Jamie and Mara's humor kept me laughing throughout the book. Daniel's support for Mara was touching but Noah beats them all. Noah Shaw. He's just *sigh* dreamy. I did wish there were more scenes with him! Michelle Hodkins did a great job on this one.

3 out of 5 stars

This series was so promising, but it just didn't live up to the expectations that I had (sorry Whitney!).

The first one was alright, the second one was good, and this last one was definitely the weakest. The entire book was an info-dump to try to explain everything that happened in the last two books. I realize that the reader is supposed to be confused about what is happening throughout the series, but at the end, the reader is still confused. I still had a lot of questions about the role of the family members in the whole plot. The whole resurrecting thing is kind of brushed over. All of the advancements in the plot were just convenient circumstances, and all of the characters made me roll my eyes. As I said in my updates, there were plot inconsistencies (which is one of my pet peeves) that were kind of distracting. Lastly, the ending was boring and unnecessary to me.

Besides that, the series is fine. It is interesting and unique, but I guess it really isn't for me mostly because of Noah Shaw who is a total douchebag. And can I just say that the sex scene told in alternating bits is hilarious? Wtf was up with the colors and descriptions? It was just beating around the bush so much yet trying to sound super artsy and poetic. That whole chunk was so awkward and goofy.

Fuck the ending was

I loved the first two books but the final book just fell flat for me. As I was nearing the end I kept thinking, "When will this end?" And when I finally did finish I actually said out loud "Finally". It just was not as good as the first two in the trilogy.

such a beautifully written series ❤️
