okay i really thought that she'd kill off mara AND noah. or mara. but. i mean. ok.
TW: This book contains several references to self-harm, suicide, and rape. None of those are discussed in great depth or detail, but some of situations and descriptions of how the characters are feeling could be difficult for some readers. This review will not discuss those topics.
This was a very exciting conclusion to this series! I feel like everything we had been learning in the last two books finally falls into place. I found it hard to put this book down - I had to know what happened next as the characters found their ways into and out of perilous situations and more pieces of the puzzle fell into place. I really appreciate the relationships between all of the characters and how genuine they felt. I was really able to feel how these characters felt about each other and understand why.

me closing the book on this series:
me closing the book on this series:

"you make me happier than i deserve."
"then why do you look so sad?"
"i would love him to death. and he would let me."
"i love you. today. tonight. tomorrow. forever. if i were to live a thousand years, i would belong to you for all of them. if i were to live a thousand lives, i would want to make you mine in each one."
the first 60% of this was perfect incredible but the end fell terribly flat unfortunately :( disappointing but i had a lot of fun reading these books so there’s that. i almost wish it had ended up with mara & noah separating for the plot… lol…..

I wasn't really liking the way the story was going throughout most of this last installment, but I thought the ending was very good. A unique, well-written story.
Such an amazing end to an amazing series. I'm really going to miss these books
I loved the ending to this trilogy (and I’m very excited to move onto the Shaw Confessions), the Mara Dyer books kept me on my toes with it’s dramatic and very vague descriptions that somehow encapsulate each book without giving anything away. The dialogue, the description, everything about the book is amazing! I would definitely recommend reading this series. Michelle Hodkin is a literary genius and I can’t wait to finish the next set of books in the series. There’s really no way to summarize any part of any of the books without spoiling it but I will say this…it’s amazing and worth reading.
