I guess 3.5 stars? I don't know if it's me or if it was the book. It didn't capture my attention as much as the previous two did. I don't understand why it's so hard to end a series and not have the last book suffer from "last book" syndrome. I loved the suspense of the first two books. This book was a bit predictable and not as exciting as the others.

This is a good example on how to wrap up a series! It ended nicely. 5 STARS because this series deserves it!

This book is a tear-jerking son-of-a-b*tch! I cried, like, a lot of times. Seriously though, who gave Michelle Hodkin the permission to write this?????:
'I looked at the boy I loved, the one who saved me, every day.'
MY FEELS!!!
-
Everything was outstandingly-well developed: the casts of characters, the plot, the setting, everything! Oh, and, loved the Harry Potter references! I found them hilarious, tbh.
-
Now that I have completed this series, I don't know what am I going to do with my life anymore. Sigh. But, I'm glad it ended beautifully. Thank you, Michelle Hodkin.

Oh my, this book. This whole trilogy, actually. It his final installment was a little slow for me at the beginning. I wanted answers. Thankfully, Hodkin eventually got around to revealing all. This book made me laugh and it made me cry. And chapter 73? Major swoons. I think Hodkin did a fantastic job with this book. All of my questions from the first two books were answered, and I felt like there weren't any loose ends. Just like in the second book, I felt really connected to Mara's mental state. I could feel her anger, her frustration, her powerlessness, everything. And it take ones hell of a writer to make that happen for all three books. Kudos. I just wish it didn't have to end.
~4/5
This last book was surprising and hard and so very good.
Mara goes through a hard change, a very dark one. There’s some serious violence here, and Mara deals with it the only way she can, which is something that everyone else has a very hard time taking. But she has violence and destruction in her, and she accepts that.
Noah is missing. Horribly so. And this does horrible things to Mara, in particular.
Mara does a lot, going on a journey with several people, doing bad things and things that need to happen. I don’t know what else to say, because I don’t want to ruin any of it.
The climax is… surprising, and horrible, and I’m still a little unsure of how it worked. But it did, and I’m okay with that. I wanted that. We get some answers for Mara’s visions, as well as how they all work and why they’re like this.
I will say that I was a little disappointed with the opening line of the first book (“My name is not Mara Dyer…”), because I had hoped it would be more, there would be more answer and excitement to that statement, but that’s all right.
This was a very good conclusion to the series. I’m happy with how it all worked out, and I liked the dark side that Mara ended up on, with the surprise of it. I look forward to whatever Hodkin releases next.

This was not my favorite of the three books. I did read it quickly. I liked the ending yet I did feel like there was a lot of questions still left unanswered. Also the flashbacks were a bit boring and annoyed me. Also most of the book was told by Mara until the end when Noah got a say. This was a bit confusing. I still feel the first book was the best.
