This was interesting, Taddeo transcribes three women's real life experiences with love, lust and abuse.
I didn't like the style of writing Taddeo chose, third person but with imagined thoughts and feelings iced on. I felt constantly hyper aware that I wasn't reading from the characters perspectives but of the writer as a detective.
Maggie's story brought me to tears.

TW: grooming, pedophilia, suicide.

I thoroughly enjoyed the writing style. Felt like a gripping read although you wouldn’t expect that from a book that isn’t full of twists and turns. Very interesting exploration of sexuality and relationships.

A horrible book written by a bitter woman.

Hated this book, I feel (as I woman myself) I should have been able to empathise with these women but the writing of them just made me hate all of them. All the stories are based around how they let and continue to let men ruin their lives whilst doing nothing to stop it.

The epilogue is confusing as it jumps from “characters” POV to writers. Then the thing that stuck with me from the book was her saying “my mum told me never to let anyone see you being happy” what the actual fuck, you both sound like horrible miserable people.

2.5 to 3... I'm not quite sure what to write.. Just fell short for me. I know it was stories from. three real women's lives. Just hard to follow, jumping timelines, the first part of Maggie's story telling the story in different person POV. The very long captures and no real breaks to know when time jumps were taking place. Just found it difficult to get into.
