How derp of me to not realise this was part of the Revenge Seasons series until I read sick Factor WHOOPS
There is something to be said about Morgan writing a non-intellectual man. Like, heโs street smart, sure, but heโs also a bit dim. He puts his foot in his mouse and he does objectively daft things, but heโs a prince and a delight and a down-bad-factor of 700%. That is a gift and a skill, and Morgan doesnโt better than anyone.
What a fucking DELIGHT

The beginning this one truly had me hooked. Man Accidently spills the story behind Elf on the Shelf in front of a single mums children - ends up travelling to her house every night to keep the magic alive.
โto plan and organise all the magic moments and curate a perfect childhood.โ
The premise behind this was cute and enjoyed a lot of the little moments.
โHe canโt be the bane of my existence and have a good smile. Itโs just rudeโ
I just think that the single mum is a delicate situation. There are times where Nicholas comes across a bit too strong/ pushy. Especially to a woman who had previously gotten out of a controlling relationship, then comes along Nicholas who is doing his own form of love bombing.
If you can get past them only knowing each other for a few weeks, Nicholas literally goes out of his way to make Christmas easier for Shane and magical for the children.
Was hoping to see more interactions with his adult son and some sort of actual revenge against her ex husband.
Beyond that it was sweet, just maybe a little too Insta love for me.

A Christmas themed single mom x rancher (more like country guy because heโs neither a cowboy or rancher, but I digress) who owns a Christmas tree farm romance that had me HOOKED. I expected cheesy Christmas romance but instead, it was a lovely, well done romance with lots of Christmas mixed in. The storyline kept me on my toes, and I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the main male character, Nick, and his ability to break down the emotional walls the FMC, Shae had constructed. Nicks relationship with Shae, and her daughters Harper and Ruby, healed something within me. I wish this book was 1000 pages, I would have loved reading even more. The slow burn spice was good, the characters were well thought out, the storyline was engaging, and the Christmas theme was fun. It also must be mentioned that the epilogue had me in tears.

2.5 stars, 3 spice
The overall idea for this book was cute, but in the end just didn't really work.
Trying to do a spicy hallmark story, but then incorporating a woman who is recovering from an abusive marriage and including drama with the ex just didn't work.
The timeline for this story didn't allow for a realistic amount of time for healing, and lowering walls. The rushed nature made it feel more dramatic than authentic to me.
The spice felt a bit abrasive and out of place, including a line about spanking her prior to any relations between them, or talks of consent - it felt like a really weird thing to say to a woman who is still recovering emotionally from a man who was violent towards her.
There was also a lack of secondary characters. We hear she is best friends with both Abbie from Tis the Season for Revenge as well as Connor, Nick's mid twenties son, but we hardly see those people at all. They could have been used to better round out the story and make it seem more realistic.
Overall, it was fine, but wouldn't really recommend
If this was written with a different timeline, rather than a 30 day rush to Christmas, I think it could have been successful.
