DID NOT FINISH: 34%

I was given this book to read as an ARC copy and was very grateful to receive it. However, I did end up DNFing it at chapter 10 (page 138). This book just isn't for me. I think that the plot needed to play a stronger role in the story. I don't think that the characters were written in a way that made me care what was going to happen. I think that if I did keep reading this may have ended up as a 3 star read. However, the constant description of the MMC's eyes or how the FMC wanted to run her fingers through her hair was just too much.
There was a lot of pirate cliches and the FMC was extremely quick to anger for no reason constantly pulling her dagger and threatening to stab everyone in particular the MMC. The MMC constantly grabbing the FMC's chin and touching her all the time I found completely creepy. I think that this story is more Romance with a slight fantasy background. Whereas I personally prefer a more indepth and involved fantasy plot with a well-established romance to back that up. Unfortunately, I just wasn't drawn in by this writing style at all and had no desire to pick the book up or to continue to read it to find out what was going to happen next.

If you want a pirate romance on the high seas with a hunt for treasure, a villainous MMC who is smokin hot and a story that will captivate you from page one then look no further. I devoured every last bit of this book. Honestly, it’s a 6 star read for me.

Thank you to the Author for an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was my first pirate romantasy, and let me just say, I'm a big fan. This book was filled with adventure, intrigue, romance, and found family.
The fierce loyalty amongst the crews was so admirable and made an engaging read. Rowenya was an unlikely Pirate Captain, but held her own in a male- dominated world. She was a really dynamic FMC.
I'm not usually a big fan of the kinda gritty, long-haired MMC, but whoa, Grayson Tyde was totally swoonworthy. Immortal, bad- ass, touch her and die Pirate Captain that knew what he wanted from the moment he laid eyes on her.
I didn't know what to expect from this book, but I was really pleasantly surprised by the depth of the themes in this book. Themes, such as an unlikely FMC Pirate Captain leading her crew and rival pirates who work together to fight human trafficking.
My favorite character in the book was Tommy, he added an interesting dynamic to the story. He made Rowenya maternal, and Grayson softer- neither of which you would have expected from ruthless Pirate Captains.
I was really appreciative of the story-telling of the treasure hunting. It was fresh, exciting, and kept me interested. I cannot wait to learn more about some of the creatures in their world.
The chemistry, tension, and banter between Rowenya and Grayson was really hot. The book was not overly spicy nor sexually explicit, but the writing was so great that you still felt the heat between them.
This book ended on a really original cliffhanger. While cliffhangers are frustrating, I have many questions and theories.  I'm really eager for the next book to come out.

 5⭐️ REVIEW:
I wish I could go back in time and read this for the first time again. Of the Stars and Sea is the perfect blend of pirate romantasy and treasure hunting/epic journey. The slow burn is perfectly paced and you’re going to fall in love with both our kick ass FMC and possessive MMC. The world building is so well done, I absolutely felt like I was right there with them.  I need book 2!!!

I absolutely loved this book! The tension between Grayson and Rowenya was INSANE and I found myself screaming when they finally acted out on it 😂 their bond was incredibly strong and the partnership that develops throughout the book was perfection 🤌🏼 the one thing I’m still not clear on though is how Rowenya looks? We hear a lot about Grayson’s unique and striking features but I feel like I can’t quite picture her as well as him. The ending made me audibly gasp and I am not ok!! I immediately need to know what happens next 😭

Infinitely grateful to Brianna Remus for entrusting me with an advanced copy of this wonderful story 🖤

There is so much going on in this book! The plot is fun with lots of mystery to uncover. A treasure to find, bad guys in pursuit, a crew to meet, and a personal history to unfold! Phew, but you know what? The book does it justice. I had salt on my skin and the wind in my hair for this one!

The characters are a delight. I was immediately in love with a whole bunch of pirates for a whole bunch of reasons. Steadfast loyalty, innocence, sarcasm, flair, heart. These characters have it in abundance and they didn't hesitate to charm me.

I had my heart broken scandalously early on. Serious side-eye at the author for that. Why must you hurt me so? I was barely settled in, and it still stings at the final page.

This is a first in a series, there is a cliffhanger so be warned, but it's delicious!

So where does it drop those 1.5 stars? It's mainly the romance. This isn't a slight on it, it's just not for me. Nothing more. I think people are going to love this pair and I don't object to them, but...

Insta-love rarely hits for me. Insta-love in the immediate face of the death of Raven (who I was insta-love with myself, I know the hypocrisy) soured the whole thing further. Finally, I'm guessing Amara and Wells will be popping back up in book 2, but I felt their absence here.

Will I be reading book 2? You bet your ass I will. And I'm excited for it.

What a ride! This book is full of mystery and intrigue, along with swashbuckling adventure. The world is beautifully crafted and brings together elements of fantasy and high seas piracy. Rowenya, the FMC, is fierce and feisty in equal parts and keeps you rooting for her to gain her freedom. Grayson, the MMC, is dark and broody but draws you in from the beginning. Both characters have secrets that are yet to be revealed in the upcoming book(s). This one ends on a cliffhanger, so be prepared!

Hands down my most favorite book I have ever read. If I could give a book 6 stars, this would be that book! Action, adventure, romance, spice, characters with depth, this book has it all. Rowenya and Grayson are characters that you want to root for, despite the dark parts of them both. This story was captivating and keeps you pulled in to the very last sentence. I want more, I need more! Book 2 can't come soon enough! Thank you Brianna Remus for choosing me to be an ARC reader!

“I have always dreamed of you, Grayson. You once painted the very essence of my nightmares. But now . . . Now you are my every dream. The darkness and the shimmering starlight that dances across it.”

Of the Sea and Stars is a swashbuckling fantasy adventure brimming with danger, mystery, and undeniable chemistry. Rowenya is a fierce and fiery pirate captain desperate to free herself and her crew from a deadly bargain. Enter Grayson—a brooding, morally grey pirate lord whose protective instincts ignite the moment their fates collide. What begins as betrayal and rivalry spirals into a sizzling enemies-to-lovers romance that burns hotter with every chapter. The worldbuilding is immersive and fresh, filled with hidden treasures, sea-bound secrets, and just the right amount of magic and mayhem. And that ending? It’ll leave you gasping for book two.
