This is an incredibly silly little book, and it's the book that sold me on joining Twitter. Rereading it having been on Twitter for four years, it feels kind of dated??? Social media has changed since it was published, as have I. So a lot of the time, this felt like non-stop whiny white boys and their first world problems. Which, I suppose, is what a lot of classics boil down to. BUT STILL. It's hard to see some of your favourite books distilled into 20-ish tweets.
It definitely has its funny moments, and it's worth the read if you want to know the basic gist of dozens of classic stories without having to read them yourself. But it's not a must read by any means.

idea carina e originale, e soprattutto simaptica, quella di "riscrivere" i grandi classici della letteratura (e Twilight!) sotto forma di tweets!!
The idea of this book is very clever and I was excited to read it, but unfortunately it's written so poorly that I'm surprised that any publishing house decided to publish it. The fact that Penguin decided to do it jus baffles me.
To appreciate this book you have to be on one hand super well read, but on the other have a sense of humour of a 13yo that laught at dick jokes.
There are few funny tweets (Wuthering Heights and Lolita especially) but every book is tweeded in the exact same language and the exact same style it gets boring after 10 minutes.

Just goes to show what the creative minds of students can achieve. This hilarious little book is a fantastic example of how we can make the classics engaging again!
Not very funny, and I couldn't understand a lot of what was said/implied about those books I haven't read yet.
3.5 stars. Of course, I only read about half of the book, because I stuck to the works that I have read. You really need to read the original before reading the Twitterature for it to make any sense.
This book was absolutely hilarious. Some sections, such as Catcher in the Rye were absolutely amazing. Twitter captures Holden (or @HoldenLOLfield)'s voice perfectly and I couldn't help but laugh at loud at many parts. Several of them, such as Twilight, were not in the voice of the protagonist, however the tweets worked and were absolutely hilarious. But then there were the ones like Pride and Prejudice that just didn't work at all. I can't picture Lizzie talking about how great women's power is.
Overall, this book was fantastic! I wish that the authors just stuck with the protagonists whose voices lended themselves to the works though.

A fantastic book. Very witty and funny. Captured some very great moments from all of the stories included. Left out some good points. You had to have read the books included to get most of the jokes but still fantastic.
I really enjoyed this book; I took my time with it because I didn't want to ruin it by reading it all at once and it becoming 'samey' (which I found, even just reading two or three parodies at a time, it had a tendency to do). Even doing that, though, I found myself getting bored quickly.
My personal favourite was MacBeth - it's probably one of my favourite of Shakespeare's and it was the one that I did keep revisiting for a quick giggle. Actually, I really enjoyed all of the Shakespeare parodies. From Hamlet's "WTF IS POLONIUS DOING BEHIND THE CURTAIN??" to MacBeth's "Away to home now with my homeboy Banquo. I shall be in Inverness in time for haggis" - Shakespeare is definitely the most well 'translated' in to the twitterverse!
However, there are a few flaws, naturally, not every single tweet is hilarious so you have to keep reading until the one which will make laugh comes up - which in some cases just didn't happen for me. The second reason is that when you don't know the original classic, most of the humour is gone. There were several books that featured that I hadn't read, therefore didn't understand t he humour - though I tried to read them all there were some that I skipped.
Overall it's a funny read, perfect to just pick up when you have just 5 minutes and well worth flicking through. I wouldn't have paid the full price for it, but 50p in a charity shop I'm very happy with!
