Edit: My rating for all of his books will be changing to 1 (since there's no 0) since I recently learnt he was problematic and he has sexual misconduct allegations against him (google it or here's a link talking about Sexual Misconduct in Children's Book Publishing

This book was anxiety inducing. Anxiety usually means a feeling of fear of what's to come it is a response to stress. For instance; if you were to talk to your best friend about something you would most probably be comfortable and not feel anxiety. But if you were to talk about that same thing in front of 100 strangers with absolutely no preparation you might feel your heart beat get faster, get very sweaty and start breathing rapidly and that feeling would be anxiety.

This was kinda cute! I’m not really one for hypnosis but I like that the children took on roles that were out of the box for them.

I actually liked this one a lot, it was slightly different to the others. But I have to admit I'm not a massive fan of the ending. A sword fight with baby teeth, moving a log with gum? I'm all for using my imagination but this was pushing it a little. It seemed more cringey than usual. I could also live without the cheesy moral/emotional summaries at the end. It doesn't suit the narrator nor the tone of the book.

Other than these nitpick-y bits im very much looking forward to the next book in the series.

This installment somehow bothers me, this series is a children's book and to write something a little too horrifying for kids is just a "mehh" for me. First, the Baudelaire guardian is basically the cruelest and most useless person ever, the same thing can also be said to Mr. Poe (except he's not cruel, only an idiot)

I don't think I'll read the fifth book soon, but I'll definitely continue the series.
