DNF 63 pgs - I just don't care about any of the characters, they're all annoying to me.

This book is a huge ass DNF.

I don't know if it's a cultural misunderstanding, because I'm not familar with Chinese customs/cultures or if it's something else.

But I hated this story.

There is too many characters. Too many plot details. Too many Characters with similar first letter names. Most characters being called "Ah-"...

Than there's a scene that says "your uncle asked me to marry him but his married to your aunt."

To me, that reads as incest and I DNF with incest.

I can't explain the story to you.

Naming a restaurant "Glory" probably wasn't wisest cause I have a R rated mind and every time I read Glory..

The last 30% of this book were at least 3 times longer than the first 70%, somehow.

2.5 ⭐️ I listened to this on audio and I don’t know if this made a difference but I found this too slow and it was a real slog to get to the end. An okay read. Would make a good tv drama.

I’m not the number one fan of books with so many unlikable characters and this book no one i was really rooting for. The premise is good but the characters are all awful .

This was almost a four-star review. However, the last seventy pages or so just kept me from enjoying the book fully.

Felt a bit long but appreciated the complexity of the characters and their relationships.
