I'm a big fan of Beck's audio narration and I usually enjoy the easy romp that Grisham provides with his pop fiction. This was no different, although the whole abortion/adoption storyline is a bit jarring? You'll see if you read it. Seems like there are some ethical concerns that weren't really addressed in the book.

This is an incredibly written book. Page turner!

Good things about the book :
1. Plot is excellent
2. The main character is very very well written
3. Page turner and fast paced
4. Legal terms well handled and courtroom chapters are just brilliant

Not so good things about the book :
1. Nothing to say here, an 5 star from me

Loved "[b:A Time to Kill|32542|A Time to Kill (Jake Brigance, #1)|John Grisham|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1554303029l/32542._SY75_.jpg|1804929]" and loved this one too...

This is a story about a teenage boy who kills a man, who is a cop, just because he thinks, he killed his mother.

The only problem is
-the mother is not dead.
-state of Mississippi considers 16year old as an adult.
-the cop who was killed off duty is considered a "Good Boy" of the town, in-spite of all the horrendous activities he has done.
-the entire police force and prosecution will not want anything less then a "Gas Chamber" for the child, whatever his motives maybe.

What follows is an unwanted case, Brigance is forced upon, with little chance of winning, promising him animosity from the very folks who respects him and that too with almost a negligible fee.

The Cat and mouse game between the prosecution and the defense keeps you hooked to the book and keeps you wondering about the strategy Brigance would chalk out.

I expected a miraculous verdict like the previous book ([b:A Time to Kill|32542|A Time to Kill (Jake Brigance, #1)|John Grisham|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1554303029l/32542._SY75_.jpg|1804929]), But still what Grisham brings , is a fair one.

Go ahead and read it , if you are a [a:John Grisham|721|John Grisham|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1583932591p2/721.jpg] fan and like to read Courtroom Dramas. You won't be disappointed.

I felt like his recent books have been very formulaic and not as good. This one, however, is as good as those old legal thrillers that got me hooked on Grisham. Really enjoyed the details of the trial.
