Another great fast paced thriller from John Grisham

Grisham is a master storyteller. I love that Jake and all his family and friends are back. This one will make a great movie, too.

A bit long but the story was great!

Classic Grisham. Very enjoyable.

I have a bit of a rocky relationship with John Grisham novels; I have absolutely loved most of them but every so often I read one that I really don't get on with. For the most part I really enjoyed this novel. Considering it's basically about one upcoming trial it is really interesting but actually it also really frustrated me because I thought a lot of the actions of the main character were out of character for him. Such as not pressing charges when he was assaulted an almost killed because of his work. Anyway, despite a few minor annoyances I think this was a really good book and I enjoyed reading it.

This was a fun read but in the end I felt the story was a little too similar to Jake Brigance's first trail with Carl Lee Hailey. The story follows a lawyer who basically sacrifices his entire life to help a kid who has killed a monster of a man, when that man should in fact be playing a father's role.
