It was such a pleasant surprise finding this book that I am obsessing over it non stop.

YA-holic had it on a resent list of e-books that the had downloaded and I got curious about it so I saw it was really cheap on amazon and decided to give it a go.

I have always liked musicians and I have eve. dated some, none of them as hot as Dylan is but Shi so it added some more value to the book. I was not very impressed during the first 20% of the book, I kept on checking on the description that was featured on amazon to make sure it was a love story and not a star crossed thingy that would keep me frustrated during the whole thing, but I was worrying over nothing, it was hot and spicy and romantic and so very cool....I do certainly love Dylan over any other guy on earth lol!
The only thing that doesn't add for me is their age, I can't believe that a utterly good looking guy who happens to be a successful musician can be so bloody thoughtful when he is only 21 years old.

Do you believe in soulmates, people who possess the other part of your soul and without them you will never be complete? Finding your soulmate is the premise behind What the Heart Wants the first in the Soulmate series.

Heaven is one of a set of triplets, she received her unusual name because of circumstances surrounding her birth. Heaven is finally getting to the point she feels safe around men again after an ex boyfriend nearly killed her, in that attempt she lost parts of her memory. One thing she has now however is dreams of a sexy brown eyed man.

Dylan has an alright life he is part of a rock band that is doing well, has a mom he loves and he works with his dad that he tolerates. He ready to settle down if only he could find the woman who haunts his dreams, is she real? His dream woman is the woman all others are judged by and found lacking, what is he going to do if he never finds her.

What the Heart Wants is both the first book as well as the beginning of the story, for the most part it tells the story of Dylan and Heaven we are however left with several cliff hangers for the next book to answer. While it can be at times a little confusing overall it is a good story with likable characters and an intriguing premise to how these two are connected not just now but forever.

There is sex in the book but it is not graphic, so moderately steamy :O)

3.5 stars! I enjoyed this. I had the opportunity of receiving this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. I have never read a book involving people that have psychic abilities. However I have read books involving fate stepping in a bringing two people together because they are soulmates. I liked the concept the author was writing about. The reason I only gave it 3.5 rather then 4 stars is because I felt the situation involving Zeke was random. I think that the story about Dylan dad and the reporters would have been fine but I felt the whole thing with Zeke was out there and just made me say What the hell?. But anyway, I liked this book and loved Dylan! I will def read the second book because I want to know what Layne is hiding! And what is going to happen with the dad, reporter and Zeke. I hope Heaven tells Dylan about Mick! Loved it!

Wasn’t for me. Didn’t vibe with the characters at all. I feel bad because someone sent it to me, but I had to force myself to finish it. :\

This book had... Pages. With words on them.

I don't think I've ever read a book with this little plot. The soulmates meeting was supposed to be it, but one of them didn't even recognise the other so the only thing that was even remotely interesting fell flat. After that the story just kind of flopped around with no real purpose. There was literally nothing to go on, it was page after page of filler? And it led up to... Nothing.

I also didn't like the characters. The sisters were mean to each other, were invasive and shared secrets as if they didn't know what the word meant. The guys are in a band, but they didn't touch an instrument once in this book. Also I couldn't believe Heaven's best friend was keeping getting married a secret, and Heaven was attending said marriage the day after she learned about it as the maid of honor? Nahhhh.

There are just so many things that don't add up in this book, that don't make sense and haven't been thought through. Such a shame, but nothing we can do about it.
I did end up giving this book 2 stars, though it was more like 1.5 stars, but I did finish reading it so that's a win. Other than that, it was not good.

I have been provided with a copy of What the Heart Wants by the author for an impartial review. This is the first book in the new Soulmate series and it was just a great way to start off a new series. I had fun getting to enter this new world and meet these new characters. I wish there had been some clarification on the different characters point of views. It just got a bit confusing at times trying to see whose point of view we were currently viewing especially when it changed in the middle of a chapter. Other than that I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to see what happens next with this series.

What The Heart Wants by Kelli McCracken

This book amazed me. When I first looked it over, I was hesitant because I saw that it was a paranormal romance. Once I truly started reading, none of that mattered. Yes, the book has paranormal aspects in it, but it is not extremely sci-fi and not anything, that will make a non-sci-fi reader not want to read the book. Anyone who does not take a chance on this book is crazy.

What The Heart Wants is about two twenty-one year olds, Heaven and Dylan who are destined for each other. They are soul mates. They discover this when they meet at a mutual friend’s wedding. Their connection and pull to one another is so strong that it is almost painful. All throughout their lives, they have had mysterious dreams about one another. Immediately Dylan realizes Heaven is the girl from his dreams. For Heaven it takes a little bit to realize that Dylan is whom she was dreaming about. Shortly after the wedding Heaven and Dylan go to, one of his band mates attacks Heaven...will this Make them closer or pull them apart? It is a struggle, but they manage to repair the relationship and move on. Oh, did I forget to mention that that Dylan is a rocker? Well, he is; he is a lead guitarist. I wish more was mentioned about the band, but I was satisfied with what was mentioned about it. His father manages the band, which causes for a lot of tension, stress and anger. Their relationship has never been good. However, once Heaven comes into the picture, the relationship gets even worse. Dylan's father believes she is a huge distraction from the band and his career. Dylan is convinced otherwise, takes it a step further, and makes a huge commitment to Heaven. Both have had some horrible relationships in the past. Heaven had been involved with a guy, which you never discover much about other than he is a horrible person and a stalker. In the end, you are left with a huge cliffhanger, which leads into the second book.

While I loved the characters and the storyline of What The Heart Wants, the style of writing is very confusing. One minute it is young adult then paranormal then young adult. If the author picked one category, I think it would have been much better. Sometimes the way the characters interacted with one another was very childish and had a young adult feel. Then other times with the anger issues a few characters had and the sexual scenes, it was straight up adult. Then you throw in the paranormal aspect and that just adds to it. Despite this, I enjoyed the book immensely. The writing style is very different from many books I have read lately. However, it is a good different. You do not get tons and tons of detail on the shade of blue of the sky. You get what you need and occasionally a little extra. There were a few punctuation errors and some errors in general with the writing, but not enough to turn me off from the book.

This book will definitely stick with me for a long time. Cliffhangers are not something I enjoy at all, but knowing there is a second book already out, I am okay with it. I am definitely interested in seeing how Heaven and Dylan's story plays out in “What The Heart Needs”.

I would most certainly recommend this book to everyone. I would say it is appropriate for seventeen and up. There are not a whole lot of sexual scenes in the book, but I think it is best for older teens and up.

I received this book for an honest review.

First, this was a sweet story and I did enjoy it. I thought most of the characters were good (with a few exceptions) and although it did seem to progress slowly, it wasn't boring. All in all, though, I don't feel inclined to keep reading the series, even with the obvious cliffhanger at the end and a few unsolved mysteries.
