I really wasn't in the right headspace to appreciate this book.

If you seriously hate your job, this book isn't going to help--the cute little stories about how someone tidied their desk and then tripled their salary just feel insulting.

Though the two authors try to make their advice as broad as possible and acknowledge the realities of workers, a lot of the advice simply isn't actionable if you're at the bottom of the corporate ladder with little control over what work you do and what meetings you go to. Still, some of the advice seems useful in theory. And the book at least gave me the kick to tidy up the area around my desk. Perhaps I'll return to this book some day when I am at a better place, career-wise...

读她的[b:The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing|36596468|The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing|Marie Kondō|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/book/50x75-a91bf249278a81aabab721ef782c4a74.png|41711738]已经是五六年前的事情了。 重点应该是choose things that contribute to your happiness and appreciate what you keep.
In most cases, a good-enough decision will be good enough. Striving for perfection is often unnecessary and comes at a cost. 读这本书之前也曾经因为有太多选择纠结过,勉励自己以后不要这么追求完美,good enough is often more than good enough.

This book served a purpose in that when reading The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up you wouldn't necessarily consider cleaning your work space and environment as well as your home; however, that's all this book served as for me - a reminder to apply the same principles to work. This book could have been a chapter in one of Marie Kondo's earlier books - it felt quite repetitive if you're familiar with her previous works.

This didn't need to be written. It was the same information regurgitated from The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up. There were a few good points made, but overall, if you've read the TLCMoTU, you don't need to read Joy at Work. Save yourself the time.

Don't buy the book.
