A nice little story about two worms who fall in love and decide to get married only to be told by others that their wedding won't really be a wedding unless they follow certain traditions. A good conversation starter to talk with kids about equal rights and marriage equality.

Well, this one sounded cuter, and much more fun, than it actually was. :(

I was really looking forward to this one, a wedding between worms? Yes, yes please! But instead of a fun wedding all we got were 2 worms who were being pushed left and right by all kinds of insects who apparently thought they were oh so smart.

It frankly just got annoying. I just wished the worms would shout something like, screw this, we will marry the way we want to marry. :| They finally do protest, but sorry, that at the end of the book. Bleh.

Really those insects should just have left the worms to themselves. Who cares how you get married, isn't marriage about love, care, and truly going for each other. You don't need a fancy wedding (though I am sure it is fun). Or a wedding that is perfectly organised so that it is just like every other wedding.
And every time you thought, ah, now we are through with all the insects, the next one pops up to ask/complain/or something else. No. Just no.

The art was so-so. It was a bit boring as there were no backgrounds. :(

Worm Loves Worm is a cute book that will definitely spark some questions for the reader.  The ending is way too simple and seems to squirt around the actual issue.  And when it does get to it in a round about way, definitely over simplified.

Two worms want to get married but their bug friends want to make things so complicated! The overall theme being all you need is love - A simple story with minimal text (one repeated refrain "Now we can be married") and colorful but minimal cartoony illustrations.

Tradition-defying worm wedding? This book watered my crops and saved me from existential dread. If another human (no, multiple humans!!) not only thought of this book but made it a reality, there must be something good left out there. Highly recommend reading post-doomscroll to remember why life is worth living.

This book was a sweet reminder that we don't always have to do things the way they've always been done. I wish it had been a little more explicit about being LGBTQ+ friendly, as I feel it skates around Worm and Worm being a "same-sex" couple (I only quote because I don't know if worms can be same-sex...are there male worms and female worms? I don't know...) so I think it could have done a little better there, but still a great book.

Love is love is love whether you're a bride and groom, groom and groom, bride and bride, or all of the above.
