I enjoyed this book, but the series as a whole is still very middle-of-the-road for me.

What I liked:
~Gale, Haymitch, and Cinna. I know, a strange trio of favorite characters, but I absolutely loved them in this book. Gale was actually my favorite character from the beginning of the first book, but I loved him even more here. Cinna helping Katniss and the cause of the revolution even though he knew it would be his last act made my life. And freakin' Haymitch. Yes, he is often a jerk, but the slow reveal of his motivations really got me.
~The ending. The climax and ending were, in my opinion, everything they should have been. For most of this book I was a bit skeptical, but the ending was perfect.

What I didn't like:
~The way Peeta's character was treated by both the author and the characterss. The entire book, he was treated like a puppy who didn't know how anything worked by the other characters. Sure, Peeta can be oblivious at times, but he's not an idiot. And he was written as a one-note loverboy whose only motivation is his undying love for a girl he KNOWS probably doesn't feel the same way. I just felt like there could be so much more to his character that Suzanne Collins never explored.
~The love triangle. PICK A GUY, KATNISS. YOUR ACTIONS ARE UNFAIR TO BOTH OF THEM. 'Nuff said.
~Most of the plot until the Quarter Quell was announced. The pacing of the book just seemed a bit off to me, but a lot of people really love this middle book, so it might just be a preference thing.

I enjoyed the book, but the end was wrapped up too... "perfectly". I don't know how else to describe it, because it's not a perfect ending (it's not really an ending) but it's done in an "oh look, everything is coming together" kind of way that I wasn't too keen on.

i can decide which book i like better : the first or this one. this was so good!!

i did watch the movie before reading the book, and i really liked to discover details in the book that were forgotten in the movies, like haymitch’s hunger games.
like the first one, it was such a page turner, i couldn’t stop to read!!
