I think it's good, but not amazing. I really enjoyed the scifi elements, but the writing didn't quite catch me - not my style.

A heart wrenching novel that I couldn’t put down. The story could easily be described as “what if Outlander but you cared about literally anyone and there was meaning and symbolism- oh and you didn’t have to get through 899 graphic sex scenes.” Phenomenal story telling. A great use of the genre and literary tropes. This could have easily been a five star read for me had the ending been less rushed. Overall a phenomenal book that I think should be required reading for high school students.

An extremely difficult read, but very good. I'm glad I read it. Despite this book being.50 years old it is extremely readble and a true page turner. A testament to Butler's skill. Definitely recommended reading, but know it is harrowing.
