Frey Drakkar has and will, forever more, put ALL potential future boyfriends to shame.
It's official people! My life is completely ruined!

So I knew you, Finnie, and I bound you to me knowing I wanted to know you more and knowing I would like having a lifetime of that discovery.-Frey

Loved it loved it LOVED IT!!!!!!!

She waits for me at windows and buys me dragons. There are reasons we walk this earth, I’m coming to realize mine.- Frey

I had this series on my want to read shelf for a long time, wish I would have started it sooner. Throughly enjoyed the interesting concept of dimension travel.

Seoafin (aka Finnie) is looking for the next adrenaline high and pays a witch to help her switch places with her parallel universe twin. The risk of the swap is not only her next big adventure, but also a chance to see her parents again. Princess Sjofn, Finnie’s other world twin, is eager to trade places so she can escape an arranged marriage. The princess leaves out a lot of fine details to Finnie regarding everything that this body swap would entail.

Love how, even being blindsided by a lot of things the princess left out, Finnie makes the best of the situations she’s in. The relationship between her and Frey was fun to see develop. Especially like that their personalities are better suited for each other than the princess and Frey.

Definitely recommend this series if you are looking for a storyline where you can’t see certain things coming.

I’m an avid Kristen Ashley fan but this one didn’t do it for me. It just felt overly long for no apparent reason. And if I never read the words “Ho boy”, “cool” and “awesome” in life again, I would be a happy woman. I’ll seriously shove hot pokers in my eyes if I do. There were parts of the plot that were enjoyable but there were portions that were just meh! I’m not sure if I’ll continue the series.

3.5 stars. This was my first non-Japanese Isekai and very successful one. The world building was very detailed and Finny's otherworldly-ness kept relevance throught the story.
It was a steamy and interesting romance. Let me stress romance. I've learned that Kristen Ashley will tempt the reader with words like 'dragons', 'witches' and 'battles' but don't expect a fantasy adventure. This is not Game of Thrones. This is a romance novel. A pretty sexy one with lots of lingerie and a muscly Viking type husband to tear them off. Just a tiny skoosh of political intrigue. Half way through the book, after Finny got settled with her raider hubby, things began to teter off into boring so I skipped some parts and doubled the narration speed for others. Lots of time spent describing dresses and curtains and whatnot. There's painting a picture then there's hammering one down.
Ending got a little more exciting if not predictable. I was super glad Finny finally showed some backbone in the end there.
My biggest critic would be the plot convenience that came in the shape of seerer magic. It got kind of ridiculous how everyone could see into the future and reveal everybody' else's secrets. But again- romance novel. Corny, convenient plot devices are to be expected. I might go for book 2. Not sure yet.

This book gets a 3 stars from me. When I first began to read this book I was intrigued by the plot and all of its characters. The plot was extremely interesting and I can not say that if I had the opportunity to go to a parallel universe that I would turn it down. In the beginning of the book I really liked the main character Finne, she was strong and kind and very brave. She made me laugh multiple times throughout the book, however when I discovered how old she was supposed to be I did begin to think she acted immature throughout the book. If she were a younger character saying things such as "cool" and "awesome" and her personal favorite "Ho boy" every other page might be acceptable; however she was portrayed as a woman in her thirties not a teenager in her late teens. I still did like her as a character I just believed she acted immature for her age. Moving on to Frey.... I also liked him as a character! He did make some mistakes along the way like making two very HUGE life altering decisions without Finne's consent BUT I still thought he was a great Alpha male lead. Overall I did like the majority of the characters.

Plot: This is why I gave the book three stars. The plot started off great and then as the book continued it got very slow and dull. The book was a tad too long so I began to loose interest about halfway through the book. However I will admit I was going to give the book 2 stars but the last few chapters of this book FINALLY drew me back in! Therefore I can't say it will be soon, but I am definitely going to give the next book in this series a shot!
