I did love this series (for what it was lol) and while I thought I would give this last book 4-5 stars, I think due to other books I read around the same time as this and after taking a break from reading it around 500 pages in - when I jumped back in it felt like a chore to finish. Normally I love the intense endings of Sarah J Mass’s books but this one felt a lot more predictable and
STOP RESURRECTING EVERY CHARACTER THAT “DIES”. If you’re gonna do the bit Sarah, commit to the bit! Not that I want these characters to die either but if in 3 out of 5 endings in this series it ends on a resurrection of one or multiple of the main characters, I just don’t feel as emotionally invested because I know that they’re just not gonna die.
I enjoyed this series for what it was - smutty, sexy, fun and adventure. It’s like watching love island - some seasons are absolute bangers and some are meh but you still watch them anyways. Don’t read these expecting a literary masterpiece - these are like reality tv in book form. They hook you and you have a hell of a great time reading them. I will however be taking a Sarah j Maas break for a while and going to find other authors/series that do something similar, haha.

It's better than a court of mist and fury. Which shocks me bc that book was the best thing I'd ever read. I literally don't know what to do with my life now

This book was so good, just like the others in the series.

Reading the ACOTAR series was a big genre jump for me as someone who has never read fantasy before, and I loved every second of it. The characters, worldbuilding, and plot lines were all well thought out and intricate. This book specifically had me hooked from beginning to end, and Nesta went from a character I loathed to a character I loved. It was amazing seeing her grow into herself, her power, and build longlasting bonds with both the Night Court family and her found family in Emerie and Gwyn.

Maas has a true gift for writing. These books are all extremely detailed and interwoven with one another that I cannot imagine the passion, time, energy, and determination it has taken her to publish the series up to this point.

I can't wait to see where the unwritten books in this series take the characters I've grown to love so much, and I cannot wait for the TV show in the works!!! BIG THINGS!

Also, I technically am finishing this book on Jan 1 2022 but I read the majority of the story in 2021 so I am changing the date finished to count for the 2021 challenge instead!
