A family arrives and purchases Albert the Turkey for their Thanksgiving feast.  Albert tries his best to show he is worth having a  pardon like he saw the President do to another turkey.

This is a fun story that incorporates voting into Thanksgiving turkey farms.    A good lesson about even though their are traditions sometimes not everything has to be set in stone.

Pardon Me, Please by Lois Wickstrom

This isn't the first book I've read by the author. Pardon Me, Please is a fantastic read for families. This book was short and sweet. The author has a way with words.

A family goes to a Turkey farm to get their Thanksgiving dinner. When they get there they find that the President has pardoned his turkey. The little girl wants to know if they can do the same. I couldn't choose a quote for any of the characters.

Highly recommended for Kids and Family lovers.

What a beautiful story this is. And the lesson it tells made me so happy. As an animal lover I fell in love with this book. If only all turkeys had the ending this one did getting sent to a Pardon Park. I thought that the idea of the family making the decision together after voting was a terrific addition to add because you do not see many families doing that. So technically this story teaches not only of how turkeys are pardoned by our President but also about voting to get a consensus. I loved the illustrations! They were probably some of the best that I have seen from her books. That could be because I love fall and since this story takes place in November there is a lot of fall to see. Remarkable story.

Cute story perfectly in time for the upcoming holiday. The story follows a turkey as he goes through a varying degree of emotions. He wants chosen but to be a pet not food. Will he survive this Thanksgiving season?

This author comes up with wonderfully imaginative stories and this one is no exception. The pages are colorful and reflect the storytelling perfectly. A fun story for kids of all ages.

This is a cute story about a Thanksgiving turkey, Albert, who gets pardoned by the family who buys him for their Thanksgiving dinner. We get to see the point of view of the turkey and his emotions as the family debates what to do. Ultimately, the family decides to vote on it and the turkey gets to go to the Turkey Pardon Park to live out the rest of his days. It's a cute Thanksgiving story with colorful illustrations.

A turkey, Thanksgiving, the president and a Turkey Pardon Park what more could you need to make an interesting tale. It would be interesting to see how Lois comes up with her cute and quirky stories and characters.
We are once again taken on another imaginative adventure in this one a turkey wants more out of his life. Now he just has to convince others that he is worth a pardon.
With bright colourful drawings it is easy to get children involved and interested in the outcome of the tale.

This is a really good book for learning compassion and rescue of animals. I was really impressed with the authors style and the way in which the story is written. There was a very valuable lesson taught and this book is very inspirational. I just wish my children were young enough for this book as I would definitely get them to read this. I really would recommend this book for a child about 8-9. I would like to read more from this author as well in future.

Albert is a turkey on a turkey farm and it's November. He's becoming very concerned that all the people looking him over see him as food and not a pet. Albert would love to live a long healthy life making people happy but not on the dinner table! Then, Albert sees some hope. The President has just pardoned a turkey and wished him a long life. Maybe, just maybe, Albert can be pardoned too!!

This is a super cute book that is very timely! It discusses how turkeys are traditionally eaten at Thanksgiving, which gives the reader and opportunity to discuss with others or think for themselves about other options for a meal besides turkey. It also discusses voting, which also happens in November. The illustrations are very well done with lots of vivid colors. This is one of my all-time favorite children's authors now that I've read several of her books. These are great to share with your kids/grandkids/daycare/preschool/etc and would make a great holiday gift!
