A fantastic romantic mystery, much in line with the Lavinia Lake series. Definitely set up to continue, which hopefully delivers on its promise. Much like Miss Fisher’s murder mysteries it’s got fun side characters that I look forward to learning more about. A definite fun indulgence.

There were some slow parts and, of course, the obvious Happy-Ever-After Hollywood type ending, but it was an enjoyable easy read with a clever mystery involved. I really enjoyed the main characters and the book leads into the promise of a solid mystery series.

Amanda Quick or Jayne Ann Krentz books can always be counted on for fun romance with a healthy dose of mystery.
I like that she switched up historical eras for this book. Old Hollywood is very intriguing. However, there were places that the writing seemed a little stale. It almost seemed as if she wanted to just get the book done in places. Also, I think that Irene needed to be a little more of an outspoken feminist. But maybe that's just me :)
