this was a really fun and quirky read. heavily inspired by franny and zooey by jd salinger, but with a new zealand / maori / modern family spin. 

it’s pretentious and loud but it’s also tender and meaningful. it’s about how wild a modern family can be but how deep bonds go. it’s about how family treats each other as family. 

i felt more drawn to valdin and how he generates excitement in his life and the theatrics he brings. 

it’s a book i started and just wanted to keep existing within the realm of the pages.
