So, this book was probably the worst book I've read this year. From the characters to the plot it was all very... melodramatic and unrealistic.
The romance was very rushed and honestly, odd. There were also some inaccuracies that were put in to make the story more dramatic, I guess.
Spoilers, but I don't really recommend this book to anyone so I don't care about spoiling it.
The whole thing with the trust fund from her grandfather, about she can't get her inheritance unless he has a MALE child by the time she's 26, and what she names it, doesn't sound legally realistic. I suppose there can be a stipulation on her having a child, but there's no way to control the gender. Not as far as I know. Also, what if she had fertility issues? It just doesn't make sense.
Also, Carter sleeping with Stewardesses, I think airlines have policies against that. Don't quote me, but I feel like that's something that's more recent.
I also have issues with how the male counterpart talks to our main character minutes after meeting her, and her responses. Now, I understand that people have their kinks and I am not shaming them for that, but... at the same time, he talks to her like he's known her for longer than 2 minutes. And she allows him.
There were just a lot of little things in this book that just didn't sit well with me. Least of all the dismissing of Clinical Depression, and how it was painted that a character ended their life because of a breakup. That is what I took issue with the most. I tried to read more after that discussion, but I just couldn't...
I have read books in this genre before, and most of them are very cliche and... not good. But this one was honestly the worst. I kind of only read it because I was falling behind my reading challenge.

I need to dry my tears, because that epilogue was phenomenal! I really loved getting to know the other side of Carter, and I will admit to being fond of reformed man-whores. It was fun, sweet, sexy, and even quite heartfelt.

I liked this book. The characters were likable and relatable. For the most part, the pacing was good, as was the voice. The narrators were excellent.
I thought this one was just ok. It had some sweet moments, but overall I was annoyed by Kendall for most of the book. Unfortunately Carter's sweet side wasnt enough to make up for how annoying I found Kendall.
I love Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland, but this just wasn't my favorite. At first, I had a difficult time liking Carter. I get that he's a playboy, but sleeping with every flight attendant you've worked with is gross. And Kendall kept having to hear about his sex life from the women, which would be a major turn off for me. Kendall also kind of bugged me. She had a trust fund giving her plenty of money, but when faced with it being cut off, she's willing to have a baby just to keep the money? That's greedy and why hadn't she saved any money before?
Things got better by the latter half of the book and Carter and Kendall clicked, but they just weren't my favorite couple and the plot was slow.
Great narration by Sebastian York and Andi Arndt though!

The jet-set whirlwind romance in the beginning just led me to a washed out worn traveler feeling later in the book. The romance starts fun, sweet, and intense, and yes, even a bit funny. I felt like the set up was kind of novel and interesting. A good fantasy!
Then it falls flat. I don't think I've ever read a book about a character's breasts before. But in the second half, I really felt like they were given top billing.
The other reason the book started to go downhill for me was the conflict was pretty freaking stupid. I mean Baby Mama drama so predictable, resolution so predictable.
If the book would've wrapped around the 65% mark, it would've just seemed like an intense whirlwind of a romance. It tried to do too much. I no longer could understand the investment the MCs had in each other. And if they had that level of investment, they would've at least owed it to each other to see it through...
Sometimes I want to give it all up and be an editor.
a) take out all the boob references. Some are ok, 1,000 are too many (I'd give this exact feedback. Constructive, right?)
b) Wrap up the book with a different conflict or draw out the indecision. The layer of complication detracted from the love story and its "don't think just go with it" loveliness.
The authors make a decent duo, however, and I will not give up.

I have this unwanted talent of picking up books back to back with the exact same tropes without knowing.
The first half of Playboy Pilot was all fun and sweet. Carter and Kendall are jetting all over the world and have some adventures in Rio, Amsterdam, Miami etc.
Then when it seems like both of them are on the same page about their relationship, one of Carter's ex come back saying she's pregnant with his child. IT'S SILENT. Kendall can't see the love of her life having a baby with someone else gets out of there faster than Carter can say 'pilot'. 11 months past, the child is not Carter's after a DNA test. So the search for Kendall begins...
Again the second half was just ridiculous and came out of a soap opera. Get me out of here

These ladies have some sort of writing magic. I have yet to read a book they've co-authored that I didn't just love. The books are sexy, fun, and cute. Nobody is TSTL. Nobody makes questionable decisions. Just a great love story with filled with great characters.
It was okay. It had nothing extra special but it wasn't bad. I just think I won't remember it for long.
