Could not put this one down. Such a great story, made even better because it is true. ❤️

Remarkable story.

I can't get this book out of my mind, which is always the sign of a good book. It took me a minute to figure out who was writing it, who the story was about, why it was a novel vs memoir, etc...... an incredible and horrifying story. There is some disconnect between when he was a young boy and then an adult as they decided to skip that portion of his life, and it made the adult character a little harder to understand at times - the reason he responded certain ways to things, etc. Well written, definitely worthwhile read.

I love books like this. Beautiful, Heartwarming story. Based on a true story about a boy from India who was kidnapped and sold into adoption in the United States. Fun fact, this all occurred in and around my hometown of Provo, Utah. It was fun catching references to the Bombay House and other local places.

Based on a true story, which makes it all the more horrifying and fascinating. The pacing is spot on for a page turner. I stayed up too late too many nights in a row with this book. The writing style wasn’t necessarily my favorite, which is why I’m giving it 4 stars. There were times when I thought the writing was fantastic and others where it distracted me from what was taking place in the story.

The story follows young Chellamuthu, who is kidnapped and brought to an Indian orphanage. From there he is adopted to a family in the United States. As a young adult memories from his childhood start to return and he begins to grow increasingly curious about his past and family.

Remarkable story. What a difficult early life Taj had, with so little control over his circumstances. He made the best of each situation and I hope the rest of his life is happy. Well worth reading.

Really liked this book- based on a true story. At times unbelievable, sad, and heart-warming. Couldn’t put it down.

A remarkable story about a mother's love that transcends blood, time, and space. A very emotional tale about finding oneself without really knowing where to start. You'll be glad you read it.
