SO GOOD. I cried and laughed and immediately reread it.

Better than Clockwork Princess, but for me that was trash. This was still a meh conclusion. I'm not into Cassie's conclusions, or her middles, or her beginnings. I love the side characters. I can't believe some of the things she did with some of them. Wowza.

To be completely honest, I couldn't really get into this book, just as it was difficult for me to get into the City of Lost Souls. This could just be because I was on an extreme book hangover from reading Clockwork Princess before I started this, but it also seemed kind of boring at first.

What I really liked about this book was the humour, there was a lot of it, but it seemed to much for the situation the characters were in. It also was leaning more to crude humour in some parts which on the occasion was funny, like Alec making straight people jokes.

The one thing I 100% looveeedd about this book was how she introduced her new characters, Emma and Julian, and how she linked all of her series in this this one, concluding novel. I cannot wait until she comes out with Emma and Julian's story and cannot wait to know what happens to them.

I was very disappointed, but also quite thankful for the short list of dead people. I was beyond furious when she killed off Jordan Kyle, but I seen now - I suppose - it had to be done. I liked the way she played out Sebastian/Jonathan's death. I really loved how Clary was able to see the brother she would've had. I also wasn't - and still - am not sure how I feel about this whole Simon's memories are lost thing. I thought it was really sad, but I was happy she didn't kill him, but also frustrated because it made it out to seem that sooooo many of these characters were going to die.

Anyways, all in all the best part of this book is the ending. From the point where Clary takes her seat on a throne beside her brother is the point where I couldn't put down the book, not until the last word.

"As long as there is love and memory, there is no real loss."

Glad it's over. I don't love the last 3 books of this series but didn't hate this one.

Over these past few months in my readings of the Mortal Instruments, I have been brought so much happiness, joy, and content. This series has definitely changed the way I think about reading (and it’s definitely picked up some speed too haha) and I will always remember it for that. City of Heavenly Fire was a perfect ending to the most wonderful series. I only have good things to say about Cassandra Clare and her work on this series. I can’t wait to dive into the Infernal Devices!!❤️❤️❤️

Didn't expect much going into this book, but the ending was perfect.

I wasn't expecting much. I was right. Completely predictable filler story that doesn't really end TMI so much as sets up other series in the Shadowhunter realm. But I think I might done. I think.
