Love love love! FINALLY. After a long drought and many, many meh books, I finally found two people to fall in love with. Finnie and Frey were just wonderful, lovable and hot. This is a nice long book with many twists and turns to keep you turning the pages long into the night.
Bravo! Can't wait to read #2!

I completely just found my new favourite book series. Holy shit!! This author takes you on another venture into a mystical universe parallel to ours, but the difference between our world and there's is that there is more magic. Not only was the settings beautiful, but the actual characters. I find it so hard these days to actually find an amazing fantasy story that is also an adult novel. This book literally had it all. The writing was beautiful and I could not put it down. It was pretty addictive.
Meet Finnie, a girl who is a thrill seeker like her parents were, before they perished in a plane crash. Finnie embarks on an unknown adventure to meet her parents in this alternative universe, which ends up being a little more than what she bargained for.
Frey, omg, he is a bundle of hotness and what I liked most about him is that he was a bit controlling where Finnie was concerned, but not to the point where he was being a jackass and would beat anyone who would look her way. Frey is the most hottest mystical being in this alternative universe, I wish I could say more but I really don't wanna ruin this book for you.
This book literally has it all. An amazing love story, adventure, action, fantasy, and an author who can actually write (finally!!!). I would read this book over and over because it was just that good. For this reason and all the reasons above, I give this book 5 stars :')

First ever PN/Fantasy read. I tried to get into it but found it pretty tough to keep track of all the strange names and now I just feel stupid.
3.75 stars
This book was a decent read. It kept my interest throughout and the characters were engaging.
I was a bit disappointed that there was very little mention of dragons. Mostly they were used as a threat that was never carried out till the end of the book.
I was pleasantly surprised though when it turned out that there were elves in the book. It was a nice addition.
Winnie was a strong if sometimes overly emotional female character. I connected with her but not strongly. I felt bad for her through most of the book as she has had a tough life and Princess Sjofn pretty badly screwed her over in the switch.
I found the twists in this book hilarious. Poor Sjofn and Finnie were both screwed. Sjofn was screwed because of her birth and because of Frey. Finnie was nearly screwed by everyone. If she wasn't the strong female character she was she would never have been able to tell Frey that 'she' lied and she wasn't a lesbian. That she was from another world (Even though Frey was told by the elves to begin with) or been able to have been accepted by her 'parents.
Edit:
Still the same rating. Not mind-blowing but it kept me chugging along.
I love the magic in this world. The elves and dragons should have been way more prominent.
Honestly, this gives me a lot of Game of Throne vibes.
I really don't like Sjofn. I mean I can understand why she did what she did but also I hate how she did it.
I'm not sure I would trust Valentine.

I really enjoyed this. I loved viewing the new world through Finnie's eyes.

This book started off fantastic. I love how strong a character Finnie is. and it was funny and had a lot of potential. About half way through it became so boring I had to skim read the rest. It was like a cartoon romance novel with heaps of sex scenes. I just didn't care about the people, the storyline and it was really disappointing. I seriously cannot believe there are 5 books in this series.
