Holy moly this is so good!

A mix of Game of Thrones mixed with Outlander!

Very original plot line and good characters.

DID NOT FINISH: 25%

... good idea. But so damn slow

This is an Interesting world that K.A. Has built I Loved the icily wonderland setting and the characters were ok. The "you feel me Babe" and "you get what I'm saying" is annoying. I was hoping with a different series maybe that speech pattern would be left behind, i guess not. Overall all it was not a bad read but not my favorite of hers

Loved Finny

This book is filled with EVERYTHING I hate.

Let's count all the ways...

The girl is unlike every other girl (TM). She has platinum blonde hair and blue eyes while her parents are all brown.

They all lament that the other Sjfoen is gay. And that's why Drakkar hates her and doesn't want to marry her. Its as if the author hasn't ever read anything about history and political marriages?!?

Drakkar is all kinds of bad. Controlling, domineering, physical with his aggression, and of course he doesn't communicate. He treats Finnie badly, is nearly twice her size, and is upset that she fears him?!?

And Finnie is attracted to him BECAUSE of all this? Nope... nope, nope, nope.....

What in the 1950s-misogynistic-Stockholm-syndrome-emotional AND physical-manipulation-nonsense did I just read? I’m not sure what possessed me to continue reading this book when it was clear after the first chapter I would not enjoy it. I’m all for an alpha-male, barbarian romance when it’s done right, but this was just awful. The writing was terrible. The characters were insufferable. How I finished this book is beyond me. I blame my inability to DNF. I would give this 0 stars if I could.

Storyline was good
Most of the characters were ok
BUT... the lead heroine was o_O
Finne character was between the ages of 28-30 but you couldn't tell by the way she talked and handled situations she was placed in. Ahh I got so annoyed with the number of times she says "cool" & "awesome". She goes from a girl/woman who can't stand having a dead animal or person in front of her to a very skilled ruthless killer o_O
I don't know but something about Finne didn't sit right with me, sorry!

Meh. I definitely prefer Kristen Ashley's contemporary romances. Her books are always soo long. In the contemporary romances there's so much randomness going on I don't mind.

I got halfway through this and I was just like...what on earth else could you do?? I think I'll stick with her CR novels going forward.
