There's a whole hell of a lot of NOPE in here. I don't care if "he's from a different time," consent is key and for a romance that isn't dark, there's a hell of a lot of bad things in here. Couple that with the amount of typos and poorly worded sentences and it all makes for a not so enjoyable reading experience. I know KA is queen of the alpha male but this was a level of discomfort for me that I've not had reading her books before.
I've read pretty much every Kristen Ashley book ever written, so I knew going in that there would be annoyingly long descriptions of every outfit that every character was wearing and every room that they walked through. Usually in her contemporary books, this is spaced out better and is less annoying. In this book, it was the worst! I actually just skipped whole passages. There is a major difference between world building in fantasy and just blurting out pages and pages of scenery descriptions.
That's on top of a story that made me want to scream! The heroine was supposed to be a fun loving adventure seeking woman- but she came across as a child who is easily swayed by a handsome man. I still can't believe she.
Plus there were too many names that were too similar and it was impossible to keep them straight.

my first Kristen Ashely book and i am not disappointed. I enjoyed the story and the world she built, i look forward to the other books in this series.
4.5/5 stars I really enjoyed this story, it was so much fun and had an amazing world. I think I can't give it 5 stars because I just didn't connect with it as much as I wanted to and at times I just didn't feel the realness of the world; the best way I can put this is at times, I felt like the characters were playing dress up and it just didn't feel real. This is all my perception and Kristen Ashley of course drew me in like she always does and didn't let me go until the story was done and I loved it for that reason. The adventure was fun and the characters were loveable and yes, I want to have a video review of this up so I'm going to stop here, but if you love romance with an added kick I would highly recommend!!
