I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

So... this was cute I guess. I mean, it wasn't that exciting and while it was only 50+ pages it was hard to keep my attention to it. Meet a little girl with purple hair. She has some fun powers and gets in trouble with the nuns plenty of times. I had a laugh at the things she did, some of them unintentional others intentional (like the statue of an angel she brought to life). I loved her bond with her cat, though I am just not a fan of talking pets/animals. The second part in which she is brought to the big city was a fun one and I had my suspicions about the guy, I hope he can teach her plenty of new things and show her how to handle her powers.
The art... pretty colours but the style just wasn't for me. Too blocky. Kids and Adults almost looking the same.

"The Girl with the Purple Hair" by Lylian K. with art by Audrey Molinatti is a graphic novel about a young girl with purple hair and unusual powers.

Evelyn, a young girl born with purple hair and a mysterious past is dropped off at a convent by her horrified father. Raised by nuns who don’t understand her but do their best and a cat that only Evelyn can hear, Evelyn learns that she has magical abilities that often lead to hilarious predicaments. When a mysterious stranger shows up and offers to train her, is he doing it for good or evil?

This book ends abruptly, so make sure you have the next one on hand. The art style is cute in a Kawaii sort of way. The narrative is just ok and young readers may enjoy it more than I did.

Okay, this was beautifully drawn, and incredibly interesting. The characters are well developed, and quickly! The story is clearly going to be a series, and one I'm eager to continue. A fun, fast, and engaging read!

I received a copy of this comic book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I saw a cute cover with a purple-haired witch, a black cat and ghosts and I knew I had to read this story. I was right, it was adorable and the best part - the cat talks (Salem much?)

I received an eARC of this title through NetGalley in return for an honest review.

I thought this was a cute little read. I liked the concept and the characters. The art is gorgeous and captivating at the same time. It is interesting to me that the main character gets up to mischief but also wants to be good.

I think the only thing I did not like about this was how short it was and how little of the story could really be accomplished in that amount of time. It is a great start up to the series, but nothing really happened that captures the reader.

Other than that, I recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick little read with some witchy vibes.

Why do they look like those Fisher Price toys that kids play with?

Born to a witch hunter and his wife, purple haired Evelyn is sent away to be raised at a convent by nuns. Children born with purple hair all have powers, and as a witch hunter, her father cannot be seen having such a child. When she becomes too much for the sisters to handle, they apprentice her to a hat-maker from London named Neil. But Neil seems to have a few tricks up his sleeve, as well!

Magic, The Girl with the Purple Hair is adorably drawn and well written. Evelyn is adorably mischievious, and I think we'll all want a cat like Benedict. This book would also be great for middle grade aged kids and up, they will love the artistic style of the comic and will be drawn in by the magical story.

I'm completely hooked! I can't wait for the second installment.
The story follows this nice and fancy girl with purple hair, a sign of magical abilities. Since the world she lives in doesn't accept too well magic, she's sent from her family to a convent where nuns raise her. When her power become stronger and difficult to hide or handle without a proper education, she's sent away for her own sake and a new adventure begins.
Every drawing was beyond perfect and the plot was so cute and charming; I just want the second part (and I hope many other to follow) to know what happen next.
Huge point in favor to this work are the characters:I loved them all, even those I wasn't really fond of at the beginning turned quite enjoyable and tender hearted. But most of all I adored Benedict: that cat owns my heart.

Although the start of this comic is quite dark, it does provide the backstory necessary for what follows next. Evie's purple hair brightens up every room, as does the incredible art style of Molinatti. Admittedly, it took me quite a while to actually like the character of Evelyn, especially since most of the "pranks" she plays on the nuns could have easily resulted in severe injury or death. The hat-maker's secret was predictable but that made it no less enjoyable, and Benedict's sarcastic comments add humor to the story. This comic is best suited for younger children who don't needle out plot holes like teenagers/older readers do, and was a short but entertaining introduction into the world of Magic.
