"and the moon
looked down on her
and said:
you are too full
of everything
that makes you whole
to ever be loved
in halves"
I've been follow April Green on Instagram and Twitter forever and have always adored her writing. I finally got the opportunity to inhale her poetry book this weekend and I think I love her writing anymore if that's even possible. Her words give hope to those who long for it. Her poetry shows love to those who need it the most. This collection is everything. I'd highly suggest anyone needing a pick me up or self esteem boost to read it. She made me want to start writing again. ❤

Read this book on a whim with kindle unlimited, and was completely blown away by its beauty and rawness. I never normally read poetry, but this book seems to be an exception. It is quite short with a lot of white space, but I know it'll be a book I need to keep coming back to. There is a lot of emphasis on self-love and acceptance, as well as emotions I struggle to describe in words and yet April does it effortlessly. There is also a part two to this book, which was also very good and I would recommend - both very soulful reads. I've already gone ahead and purchased a paperback copy!

See this review and more on Books and Ladders!

This one just didn't speak to me. It didn't have the right flow or feel to it throughout but it was on Kindle Unlimited so if you are interested, you can check it out! I did like that it was broken into sections but the sections all felt the same just with different types of poems. All the poems felt pretty repetitive throughout and I would have liked a bit of change between it. I don't think I'll check out the other poetry collections the author has.
